Cupping is an ancient therapy which uses vacuum cups placed on the skin to pull tissue up into the cups. Light to deep suction can be applied based off the client's needs and tolerance to suction. These cups can be placed over numerous areas of the body to achieve results.
When blood gets "stuck" within the tissues of the body, inflammation develops. Longstanding inflammation leads to disease. Cupping helps break up this inflammation by breaking up stagnated blood within the tissues and bringing it to the surface of the skin to be released (hence, the infamous round bruise spots where cupping has been performed). Cupping also helps elongate tight, contracted tissue which aids in increased tissue pliability.
Please note that cupping may be contraindicated in some cases. If you have any health conditions, please contact me prior to scheduling a cupping session to discuss if cupping is appropriate.
Also, the cupping treatment can be added to any Beautifully Balanced Massage & Bodywork Treatment (pregnancy excluded) giving you the best of both worlds! Please contact me for an add on to ensure I can schedule appropriately.
